Sustainability at Envalior

Increasing the share of renewable electricity is one of the most effective levers to reduce indirect emissions from purchased energy and remains central to our decarbonization roadmap. This shift is supported by a structured transition toward lower-carbon energy sources, including long-term power purchase agreements, energy attribute certificates, and onsite renewable generation.

Scope 2 emissions cover indirect emissions from purchased electricity, heat, and steam used in operations. The reduction reflects changes in how energy is sourced, supported by an increasing share of renewable electricity and more targeted energy procurement strategies.

Operation Clean Sweep is an industry initiative focused on preventing the release of plastic pellets, powders, and flakes into the environment. It establishes standardized handling and containment practices across production and logistics to reduce the risk of microplastic loss. Certification confirms that these practices are implemented and audited consistently across all European production sites.

Water intensity describes the relationship between production output and water use, expressed as cubic meters per ton of product. Operating below defined thresholds reflects efficient water management and consistent control across sites. This performance is supported by measures such as closed-loop systems, water recycling, and targeted actions in water-stressed regions.

The EcoVadis assessment evaluates sustainability across a broad set of criteria, including environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. It reflects how well these topics are integrated across an organization and throughout their operations. The assessment places Envalior among the top 5% globally and top 3% within our industry.

The number of recordable work-­related accidents decreased by 50% compared to the previous year. This reflects our continued efforts to systematically monitor and manage workplace safety, with a focus on preventing injuries and ensuring safe working conditions across operations. We continue to emphasize near-­miss reporting, safety observations, and raising concerns through our incident reporting tool to pro‑ actively identify risks and prevent incidents.
