Envalior

Delivering medical devices trusted by patients and healthcare professionals

High demand for medical devices and drug delivery equipment is creating opportunities for manufacturers that support this market. Yet approximately 30-40% of equipment recalls can be traced back to improper material selection. Protecting your reputation requires working with a material partner prepared to help you accurately assess how final parts perform in clinical settings and overcome supply chain issues. We at Envalior offer a proven material solutions portfolio created to help you develop a broad range of best-in-class medical devices.

Demand for medical devices and drug delivery equipment is skyrocketing. This trend is driven not only by medical facilities and hospitals, but by caregivers who need reliable access to this equipment. Numerous medical devices are also increasingly used outside of healthcare centers – which is expected to drive the global home medical equipment market up at a compound annual growth rate of 6.1% from 2020 to 2027.

Challenges you currently face

As a healthcare equipment supplier, you understand how crucial material selection is, as regulatory bodies set stringent standards for polymers used to manufacture these products. However, many manufacturers are unaware that 30 to 40% of medical device and drug delivery system failures are caused by choosing an insufficient material. This is often the result of suppliers relying on incomplete material data that doesn’t predict how end-parts will behave in real-life conditions – and has led to costly recalls or legal action.

Ongoing material supply chain uncertainty also poses challenges for your team. This issue, combined with mounting pressure for healthcare industries to reduce their environmental impact, limits the number of polymer suppliers prepared to deliver safe and compliant materials on schedule.

Ensuring your supply chains are reliable

Production downtime caused by late material deliveries can cost you business. At Envalior, we give you peace of mind by ensuring our materials always remain in high stock. With products available through all our global manufacturing sites, we have a proven track record of preventing supply chain disruptions for our partners – with no force majeures declared throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. In our 2020 customer satisfaction survey, 95% of respondents stated that Envalior meets or exceeds reliability of supply expectations compared to our competitors.

Enabling you to surpass current safety regulations

Due to their high purity, our polymers contain negligible levels of extractables, leachable substances and volatile organic compounds. Each solution exceeds universal regulations, including FDA Food Contact, USP Class VI and ISO 10993-5/10993-10 standards, by a wide margin – reducing the risk of future non-compliance. With its unique monolithic membrane technology, Arnitel® Care materials are used to make breathable medical gowns proven to protect healthcare workers during high-fluid surgical procedures.

Offering you greater design flexibility

We offer you materials that are ideal for producing robust, lightweight home care devices. ForTii® Care PPA demonstrates extreme durability and high flow, and can replace expensive metals used to manufacture surgical robot components. You can save additional design cycles by using our computer aided engineering (CAE) services that accurately predict how mechanical wear and sterilization chemical exposure impact the long-term performance of parts.

Helping you benefit from sustainable materials

With medical device manufacturing estimated to make up 4.4% of net global carbon emissions, healthcare industry regulators are imposing stricter measures to protect the environment. Arnite® Care, which is well-suited for producing catheters, autoinjector pens and inhaler valve systems, leaves a 50% lower carbon footprint compared to conventional polybutylene terephthalates (PBT). To help you embrace circular material solutions, we’re currently developing a full range of bio- and recycled-based polymers, which don’t require requalification, for launch by 2030.

Empowering you to deliver safer, stronger, and more sustainable devices

As demand for medical devices increases globally, Envalior is committed to helping you ensure patients and healthcare workers get the equipment they depend on each day. We work closely with product suppliers to verify that our Care material portfolio continues to align to all their current and future requirements. With our reputation for providing manufacturers with safe, reliable and sustainable polymers, we can help you cost-effectively scale your operations to meet the needs of your customers.
