Envalior reveals cutting-edge lightweight and flame-retardant composite applications at JEC World 2024

  • With a weight savings of ca. 4kg compared to steel sheet metal, the Mercedes C-Class Lightweight Load Compartment Well made of PP-Roving glass organo sheet will be showcased at the Envalior booth.

  • Meeting the demands of flammability in thermal runaway cases, a new solution for  electric vehicle batteries made of Envalior engineering material will be featured at the booth. The special composite can withstand the harshest test in the field of thermal runaway and thermal propagation.

Düsseldorf, February 28, 2024 Envalior’s Bond-Laminates will reveal their latest innovations across various application fields with a focus on the megatrends of new mobility and sustainability at JEC World 2024 in Paris. The featured applications underscore that the company’s product portfolio is an answer to the many challenges arising from current trends. Attendees visiting the booth will see innovative solutions for individualized product designs and product properties as well as enhanced safety resource conservation and environment protection.

Applications highlighted at the Envalior booth include:

  • With an outstanding and unique forged carbon look, the Fisker Ocean Wheel Cover made of Tepex® Flowcore.
  • Creating a weight savings of ca. 4kg compared to steel sheet metal, the Mercedes C-Class Lightweight Load Compartment Well made of PP-Roving glass organo sheet.
  • Offering lightweight performance, plus outstanding rigidity and crash performance, the BMW M Sport car seat pan made of a structural Tepex® organo sheet. A derivate of the seat pan is made as a technical demonstrator of a natural fiber (flax) based Tepex® composite.
  • Enabled by inserts like metal threat domes and other functional elements, the Mercedes EQS battery carrier plate with functional integration. Plus, the part is fully recyclable.
  • Meeting the challenges of flammability in thermal runaway cases is a material solution for EV batteries made of a customized Tepex®organo sheets. For the latest EV battery applications, Tepex® sheets open up new ways of preventing fires and enables the smallest wall thickness.
  • Highly sustainable with maximum performance for tank systems, a pressure vessel made from UDea™ EcoPaXX® performance UD tapes and Envalior liners. Our UD tapes enable fully automized winding of tanks. Our performance fibers and specials liner materials reach maximum performance for tank systems.

JEC World will take place from March 5-7, 2024 at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre. You can find us in Hall 5, Booth C44.
