À medida que a eletrificação automóvel se acelera, também aumentam os requisitos para os rolamentos e respectivas gaiolas utilizadas. Uma vez que os motores eléctricos operam a velocidades mais elevadas, com mais binário e a temperaturas superiores, materiais como PA66 podem não satisfazer os requisitos dos componentes das gaiolas de rolamentos utilizados. Em simultâneo, as soluções metálicas ou em PEEK podem implicar custos significativamente superiores.
