Evalior, formerly Envalior India, was awarded on May 10, 2023, the prestigious CII ITC Award in India. The award was granted to Envalior’s facility in Pantnagar, India, in recognition of the company’s innovative approach to reduce its environmental impact, which has achieved exemplary results.

Out of 100 companies that applied for this award, Envalior won the award after three CII assessors reviewed the company’s sustainability initiatives. During the physical assessment, Envalior showcased and demonstrated the best sustainability practices.

The award was presented by Shri Nitin Gadkari, honorable Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Government of India, who emphasized that industries need to come forward with new technologies to reduce pollution in cities, create jobs and tourism opportunities for rural and tribal areas. This helps in contributing towards more decentralized development.

Envalior’s Pantnagar, India, site was identified for health and safety impacts that play a vital role for improvement of products and a re-purposed product portfolio. With an aim to create business models that are driven on circular economy and biodiversity, Envalior holds an environmental management policy which anchors around climate change/emissions, energy use, water consumption, resource efficiency and waste management.

Another sustainable initiative at the Pantnagar site is to reduce water via a dry vacuum pump at the new compounding lines, which will reduce water by 14 liters per minute. This has resulted in saving approximately 20 KLD and reduced waste generation. Envalior is also working with R&T and developed grades to regrind and recycle all polymer startup waste.

“Envalior promotes sustainable policies and practices that create capacity to mainstream long lasting practices,” said Uday Shetty, Operations Director at Envalior. “This award is a milestone in our portfolio that is layered around governance, ecology, biodiversity, and social dimensions of doing business. We constantly aim to integrate sustainability into business models combined with innovative solutions for environment sustainability and inclusive growth.”
